Ideal venue for Group & Corporate Functions
The centrally located Curator’s House Restaurant is an ideal venue for either special occasions such as weddings, birthday parties and anniversaries, or corporate functions, business meetings and conferences.
Whether you would like to have lunch professionally arranged for your business meeting or you wish to order a complete dinner for your wedding reception – the Curator’s House Restaurant is the perfect location for your needs. We are completely dedicated to hospitality and service. Combining this with the elegance and charm of a traditional atmosphere, the Curator’s House makes your special day a unique, memorable experience – for you, your guests and your customers.
Five Dining Rooms
Two downstairs the 'Bar' and the 'Riverside Room' seat 25 each, or a total of 50 downstairs. Three upstairs - plus the ‘Honeymoon Balcony’, our special room for romantic candlelit dinners - seats 2 -8 people. This, adjoined to the Vanilla Room (separated by a silk curtain) seats 35 people. The popular wood panelled 'Library' seats 26 people. The smaller Magnolia Room seats 12. All rooms offer spectacular views of the flowers of the Botanic Gardens or of the Avon River.
Covered Garden Courtyard
Our covered Garden Courtyard is ideal for cocktail functions, predinner drinks, and lunch and dinner parties amidst the picturesque setting of our fruit and vegetable garden alongside the Avon River. It seats 50 people for dining or 100 for cocktails on a balmy afternoon. Marquee type sides for the canopy and heating are available to ensure your comfort.
Lawn Marquees
Furthermore, Lawn Marquee Sites for a maximum number of 70-80 people are available for hire. Marquees are ideal for more formal dining occasions where ceremony or speeches necessitate all guests to be seated together.
Menu Options for Groups
Choose from one of our Group Menus with a wide selection of fresh quality cuisine such as lamb, seafood and vegetarian dishes, or confer with our Functions Coordinator, Jackie Garcia Knight and Executive Chef, Scott Henwood about our own selection to suit your personal taste and budget. We also offer a list of some exquisite local and international wines and a stunning array of cocktail food options.
Group Menus
We have Group Menus for 10 or more people (which offer a slight discount from the A la carte & enable us to offer efficient service to your group & other customers). Group menus ensure everyone eats together instead of waiting while some people have entrée or soup & others only a main. We suggest large groups (30+) opt for the $55 menu for ease & speed of service. Menus may be tailor made to suit groups’ requirements on request.

Private Dining Rooms at the Curator’s House
Please feel free to drop in to look around, or make a time for our Maitre d’ to give you a guided tour & discuss seating options.
You may have a preference for a particular room in the Curator’s House. As always, we aim to make our customers happy and will do our best to satisfy this request. At very busy times, with lots of groups, we may not be able to guarantee a particular room due to logistics involved in organising groups according to numbers and room size. Our policy is:
To have a private dining room at this time there is a minimum spend of $1350 per room (this means your total bill for food & beverages). This guarantees privacy, not a specifically requested room.
To guarantee a specific room there will be a minimum spend specific to each room plus a booking fee of $150.
The minimum spend for a specified room:
Bar: (downstairs left, seats 20+) $1350
Riverside: (downstairs right, 20+) $1350
Magnolia: (upstairs left, seats 10+) $675
Pink room: (upstairs right, seats 24+) (not incl. honeymn) $1635
Pink room with Honeymoon (upstairs right, seats 30+) $2080
Honeymoon only: (upstairs front, seats 6) $500 – may not be guaranteed at times
Library: (upstairs left, seats 22+) $1485
Enclosed Garden Courtyard: (rear of the house beside vegetable garden, seats 40+) $3000
Cocktail and finger food functions upstairs can accommodate 80 people
Downstairs including garden courtyard 150+ people
Lawn Marquee Sites
Maximum No. of Guests 70 P.O.A.
Cocktail Parties (1 1/2-2hrs). Menu available between 3.30-6.30pm.

Music
The Curator’s House provides background music. You are welcome to organise ceremony music. Acoustic live music is welcome – no amplifiers. All live music to finish by 11pm
Cakes
If you wish to celebrate your special occasion with a cake, we can organise one to your taste, or serve a cake you bring. Please arrange this prior to the day.
Group menu + bring own cake = charge $2.50pp (to cut & platter)
Group menu + we order cake = $6.50pp (min. 6 pax, cake, cut & platter)
A la carte + bring own cake = $5pp (served with cream & berry coulis)
A la carte + we order = $10 pp (min 6 pax, cake, served with cream & berry coulis)
Booking Form
This will be filled out by the person who takes your booking at the time the booking is made. It will then be faxed along with any updated menus prior to the booking date. Please note that groups will be asked to confirm details 2 weeks prior and may be asked to pay a 10% food bill deposit during high seasons. We request confirmation of final exact numbers to be charged for 48 hrs prior. The 10% deposit will be deducted from the final bill.
